Presentations-Day Trips-Family Meetings-Shindig-Bonanza!

Well, it has been a busy month at North Star, and to put it mildly, our hearts are full! Here is something of a photo essay from the past few weeks.

  1. Presentations: Teens are invited to share a particular interest or exploration from the past year. While the content was inspiring, the risk-taking and vulnerability of the presenters and support provided by the audience was even more awesome.
  2. Day Trips: Field Day, Butterfly Museum, Disc Golf and more, sprinkled throughout our two weeks of end of the year family meetings.
  3. Family Meetings: The core staff met with each family privately over the course of two weeks…that’s sixty-two meetings that were scheduled, reminded, attended, and thoroughly enjoyed. Mostly, these were appreciations (Parents saying, “I feel you really see my child here.”) No photos from the meetings, but collectively they are a highlight of the year.
  4. The Shindig: Our End-of-Year Party and Good-Byes to those moving on. A moment of recognition to staff member Susannah Sheffer who is reducing her time in the fall.
  5. The Bonanza: A 25th (actually 26th) Year Reunion and Celebration. A ceremony to honor John Sprague, “…who has been part of North Star from before the beginning!”

Next up: More on the concept of The North Star Alumni Association as presented at The Bonanza!
